Shagun Bindlish, MD
Shagun Bindlish MD is a Diabetologist/Internist, Dipl Obesity and Lifestyle Medicine. In addition to her primary care and specialty practice, she works as a Medical and Scientific Chair of the nonprofit organization American Diabetes Association Northern California.
Dr. Bindlish is Adjunct faculty at Touro University California and teaches Obesity Medicine at the Diabetes fellowship program. She is also a faculty at the University at Cruise Continuous Medical Education and has given educational lectures about Diabetes and Obesity in the US and Europe.
Dr. Bindlish is honored to receive the Prestigious Award for Outstanding Contribution to Obesity Medicine. She is an Associate Editor in the renowned journal Obesity Pillars of Medicine and Clinical Diabetes Magazine of American Diabetes Association for Primary Care. She is also a chair of the Outreach committee at the Obesity Medicine Association.
She is very passionate about advocacy work and works as an advocate between primary care providers and Legislators as part of the American College of Physicians (ACP). She has been representing the California chapter as a fellow for the past 2 years in Washington DC. Dr. Bindlish is also nominated as the Wellbeing Champion for Northern California ACP.
Shagun earned her medical degree from Yerevan State Medical University in Armenia in Russian language and completed her residency at Lutheran Medical Center in New York. She has also pursued Diabetes Fellowship training from Ohio University, Ohio.
Shagun has also contributed to multiple international webinars for organizations like the Romanian Institute of Lifestyle Medicine, the British Medical Journal India, a Music conference in the UK about Teenage obesity, and Music and DiaBeters- a Nonprofit Organization in Kenya, Africa. She has also written multiple blogs and articles for Helio, Patient care online, Physician Weekly. She is currently practicing at One Medical California and her philosophy is to build trust and friendly relations with patients, with a main focus on prevention and awareness.

Dr. Nalawadi is now stepping into a new role as the Director of Obesity and Lifestyle Medicine at BASS medical group. In this position, she will lead initiatives to implement evidence-based clinical practices for disease reversal and prevention, further advancing the field of lifestyle medicine to a much wider population and clinics.
In her personal life, Dr. Nalawadi is a marathon runner and a proponent of green living. She enjoys sustainable fashion, especially those grounded in traditional textiles and fabrics. Dr. Nalawadi also takes pleasure in growing medicinal plants, reflecting her deep connection to nature and holistic health. Her commitment to a healthy lifestyle extends into her culinary pursuits, particularly in experimenting with whole food plant-based cooking.
Shikha Verma, MD
Dr. Shikha Verma is triple board certified in General psychiatry, Child & Adolescent psychiatry, and Addiction Medicine. She has extensive clinical experience in managing various mental health disorders, including attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), substance use disorders, eating disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and intellectual disabilities.
Dr. Verma received her early medical training (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, MBBS) at Lady Hardinge Medical College at the University of Delhi in Delhi, India. She completed her residency in Psychiatry at Hennepin-Regions Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota and completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
She is a Medical Director of Northern California and Vice President of Medical Training and Development at Evolve Adolescent Behavioral Health. Before joining the Evolve team, she was a practicing psychiatrist for inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs at Rogers Behavioral Health in Wisconsin. She has a deep interest in teaching and is actively involved in teaching residents and fellows. She is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Illinois.
She was recognized as a Distinguished Fellow of American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (DFAACAP) by American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) in 2023. She was also recognized as a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association(FAPA) in 2021. She was awarded a Faculty/Teaching award for the year 2018-2019 by the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She continues to advance her teaching interests through international, national, state, and organization level presentations/talks in various conferences and events. She has published several articles in reputed journals, has been a peer reviewer and an editorial board member for journals.
Dr. Verma is an active member of the Complimentary and Integrative Medicine Committee and the Intellectual Disability subcommittee of the Autism and Intellectual Committee convened by the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and is a member of the American Psychiatric Association.
She passionately advocates for furthering mental health education and tends to vulnerable populations including children, adolescents, women, and individuals with disability. Her philosophy is having a holistic approach, where patient-centered care is primal, it is prudent to address an individual’s larger holding environment (family, friends, school, and work) in their growth and overall well being.
Dr. Verma strives to make a difference and be a catalyst in mental health by her continued contribution in medicine and education. She envisions touching lives positively and helping individuals build resilience, as they walk the path, we call as life.
Anila Chadha MD, DABOM
As an Obesity Medicine Physician and a Family Physician, Dr. Anila Chadha acquired unique skills to provide comprehensive, evidence-based treatment to manage the chronic disease of obesity while simultaneously managing the metabolic implications of obesity.
Dr. Chadha attended medical school in India and completed her residency training at Kern Medical Center affiliated to University of California, Irvine. She then obtained her Diplomate through the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
Throughout her career , Dr Anila Chadha has been involved in multiple roles. She started the non surgical weight management program at Dignity Health Bakersfield, CA. She currently serves as Obesity Medicine Director at Mercy Hospital Bariatric surgery program. Other than engaging in providing health education to her community through local Television or speaking at community events, Dr. Chadha also serves as a committee member for the outreach committee for the Obesity Medicine Association.

Meenu Vaid, MD
Dr. Meenu Vaid is a distinguished physician with expertise in internal medicine, infectious diseases, and addiction medicine. With years of experience in both clinical practice and correctional facilities, Dr. Vaid now holds an influential administrative role while also spearheading a private practice focused on specialty care in infectious diseases and addiction medicine.
Beyond her clinical endeavors, Dr. Vaid is deeply committed to her local community in Morgan Hill, CA. Pearl Ma, MD
Dr. Pearl Ma is a born and raised Iowa native and moved out to California, where she completed her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine from University of California, Davis. Throughout her undergraduate at UC Davis, she worked extensively in community free clinics, helping the underserved populations in Sacramento County.
She has been a leader in teaching and patient care and honored with multiple UCSF Fresno Resident Excellence in Teaching Awards. Dr. Ma was selected as the Leon S Peters Foundation Resident of the Year Award for demonstrating an outstanding job in patient and family care, research project success and volunteering in the community.
She has a passion for teaching as well has an interest in research with publications in revisional bariatric surgery and multiple book chapters. In addition, she has completed a Trauma textbook chapter on social violence.
Her goal is to serve the people of the Central Valley of California and to continue educating the local physicians and surgeons in cutting-edge surgical techniques and compassionate patient care. Dr. Ma is also UCSF faculty team as Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery teaching UCSF Surgery residents and minimally invasive fellows. She is also certified in Obesity Medicine fellowship.
